EUC Engineering has been awarded the role of Functional Safety Assessor to carry out a functional safety assessment for a natural gas fired package boiler at an alumina refinery in Western Australia.  The role is to provide an independent assessment of the completion of the AS IEC 61511 functional safety lifecycle undertaken by the engineering service provider to the end-user.  The work involved planning, preparation of questionnaires, review of technical documentation, preparation of phase completion verification checklists  and preparation of a functional safety assessment report.  The report is due to be completed before start-up of the package boiler on natural gas.
